A very rare group of historical items from Kennebunkport, Maine belonging to Oliver Bourne. Oliver Bourne was a Kennebunkport store keeper and postmaster. He was the primary owner of at least one vessel, the schooner JANE BOURNE. His house still stands to this day in Kennebunkport. * More info is available to purchaser.
The items are being sold only as a collection. The collection consists of an oil on canvas portrait of Oliver Bourne, his original desk, and a rare pair of leather fire buckets. The oil on canvas is c.1820-30. Bourne's original desk is in old blue paint from when he was the postmaster of Kennebunkport, Maine c.1820
The pair of leather fire buckets is in exceptional condition from the Kennebunkport original fire brigade dated 1825. These items have only been out of the family one time in the 1990's and have been in a prominent private collection until now.
