A very rare game board found in an old logging camp in Northern Maine.

Both ends depict the face of the player/maker, probably a French Canadian logger working in Maine. All original as found, paint and condition.

A wonderful piece of Americana.

Mid to late 19th century.

Massachusetts. Private collection.

Measures 18 1/2" wide x 32" across.



Primitive Painting

An early 19th century Maine logging mill is depicted in this primitive landscape. It has a Congress Street Portland, Maine label on the academy board.
Old gold leaf frame.

Running horse weathervane in the form of Ethan Allen, probably by the Cushing Company,

c.1880-90.

Old gold leaf patina with some verdi gris showing through, cast zinc head. Museum mounted.
