Rare and interesting painted green slate checkerboard with its original "tramp art" frame. Mid to late 19th century.
Originally found in Fair Haven, Vermont and believed to have come from a local quary and carved by one of its workers
It has been in a private collection for the last 10 years and was owned by the family prior to that.
Measures 14" across x 17" height.
An outstanding and early Artic Eskimo piece from found bone. It is titled "Dog" and is signed S. Weyiouanna.
It has an old Kennedy Galleries tag on the bottom.
It was in a private New Hampshire collection for over 25 years.
Museum mounted, it measures 9 1/2 " height x 7 1/2 " across the base
